Report Bike Lane Issues

The Philadelphia Parking Authority (PPA) provides parking enforcement in Center City, University City and all neighborhood commercial areas.

If a vehicle is obstructing the bike lane, this agency is your best bet at getting enforcement. To request enforcement, call their hotline at 215-683-9773.

The Philadelphia Police Department also enforces parking violations. In areas that the PPA does not patrol, they are the only contact for enforcement.

Some cities have a separate police non-emergency number, but Philadelphia does not. To reach the police department, you must call or text 911. If you bring a police issue to 311, they will tell you to contact the police.

If the issue is not related to a parked car, Philly311 is the best point of contact. The contact center answers calls to 311 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday. You can also submit your request online or through their iPhone or Android app.

For issues of a more permanent nature, we recommend contacting your city councilmembers, particularly the councilmember for the district where you notice the issue.

Philadelphia’s political system gives a lot of power to district councilmembers, who functionally control land use in their own districts.
