HONOR

The purpose of this ride is to honor cyclists who have been killed or injured on our roads.

AWARENESS

We are working to raise awareness about the legal rights of cyclists to ride the roads. Thirteen cyclists have been killed in the Delaware Valley since our last Ride of Silence. The ride is being held in Philadelphia for the 22nd year in a row and in its 24th year since its inception. It is expected to be held this year at over 200 U.S. locations and internationally in over 15 countries. Last year we had about 350 participants and this year we are hoping to attract at least 500 riders to the event.

The 8-mile long route will start at the North side of Philadelphia’s City Hall (North Broad St and JFK Blvd) Franklin Parkway and end at the Art Museum Steps. A brief pre-ride dedication ceremony will take place at 6:45 PM and the ride will start promptly at 7:00 PM. The duration of the ride is expected to be one hour. Helmets are required and bicycle lights are encouraged.
