Philly Bike Action is an all-volunteer advocacy organization and registered 501(c)(4) nonprofit on a mission to expand Philly's protected bike lane network and improve the experience of riding a bike in Philadelphia.
Since our founding in April 2023, we have mobilized a grassroots movement of civic engagement and direct action demanding safer designs for our city streets.
We're committed to the safety, dignity, and convenience of people who ride bicycles in Philadelphia. We believe that bicycles are an essential, equitable part of our transportation system, not just toys for sport or exercise.
We believe that physical infrastructure is the best solution to bring unbiased, 24-hour safety to our streets in a way that enforcement and education simply cannot.
We strive to be a diverse and inclusive organization that represents the needs of all current and future bicycle users in Philadelphia.
We recognize that the problems we aim to address disproportionately impact communities of color and are often the result of systemic neglect and disinvestment.
We welcome individuals of any race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender or gender identity, class, age, religion, immigration status, and disability.
Our organization and all those who participate in our organizing are beholden to the behaviors defined in our Code of Conduct.
