Philly Bike Action is an all-volunteer grassroots organization that relies on people-power!
How it works: Volunteers contribute in the way that best suits their time and interest -- we love folks who can dive in and find ways to get their hands dirty!
Support our mission by attending public meetings, signing our petitions, following us on social media, and responding to Calls to Action.
Weigh in on the direction and priorities of PBA and have the power to vote in Board elections.
Volunteers who support projects and districts with specific skills like graphics, copy editing, tech, and community outreach. Teams are critical to our success!
Our advocacy is organized by City Council districts. Everyone is welcome to attend monthly in-person district meetings to learn about our organization and work together with their neighbors on local issues.
Find your District using our custom tool and check our events page for upcoming meetings!
These meetings are coordinated by volunteer District Organizers.
How it works: Folks who take on volunteer roles like notetaker, facilitator, agenda making, or meeting promotion may be invited to become District Organizers!
Individuals who take ownership of an idea, event, or project. This is the only method for organizing under the PBA banner!
Example projects include petitions for new bike lanes, bike lane clean up events, pop-up bike lane demonstrations, and community events!
Is there a project you'd like to do with PBA? Fill out our project application form!
How it works: You must have a PBA Account to apply for a project and it is helpful to have a connected Discord account.
Trusted organizers who lead district meetings, teams, or admin duties. This small group keeps PBA ticking. We always need more Organizers—start your journey by taking on responsibility in one of the levels below!
How it works: If you are interested in becoming an Organizer, you can fill out an application once you have experience contributing to teams, districts, or projects and a current Organizer can vouch for you.
The Board of Directors is responsible for the strategic oversight and financial planning that informs our advocacy work.
Board governance is necessary to maintain federal 501(c)(4) tax-exempt status, which we rely on to minimize operational costs.
The Board also charters committees to carry out essential tasks, like maintaining technical infrastructure and keeping track of finances.
Our Board is comprised of 100% volunteer, hands-on organizers elected by our Membership.
